Hospitalist team works at a 114-bed Hospital where the team routinely covers 65 beds. Coverage includes beds from OB and Neuro Psych Unit which hospitalists only see patients there if consulted.
Coverage also includes a 12 bed ICU (ICU skills are important for covering the ICU- i.e. Vent management, Central lines). There is great ICU Support - Anesthesiologists and surgeons available for consults and can help with difficult cases. There is one Pulmonologist who can help with any critical pulmonary patients on vents or those who have chronic pulmonary issues. Anesthesia available 24 hours if needed, RT staff is proficient with intubating patients and anesthesia is a backup as well. Emergency Department is responsible for codes. Hospitalist is asked to arrive as soon as possible to take over care
Average total admissions per 24 hours: 10-15; Average census per physician is 15 – 20
Hospitalist starts out with a set number of patients who they round and take call on during their shift (12 hours).

I am recruiting for a Nocturnist position with an outstanding Rehab hospital located in a very nice area of Northeast New Jersey. Their patients are those who are rehabbing from various surgeries, such as hip, or heart surgery.
You will be working with patients who are already stabilized. There are no procedures, no ER, no vents, you are following up on stable Rehab patients only. This is a closed system, so you won’t have multiple admissions from a huge variety of outside primary care groups.
Your schedule is 7 on 7 off, 7pm to 7am. You will have a base salary, and benefits package.
This is considered a premium Nocturnist position with one of the best Rehab facilities in the United States. You will have a full benefits package, vacation and CME time off of 20 days per yr plus 6 holidays.
They prefer a candidate who already has a NJ lic, or close to getting one. It can take 4-5 mths, so they prefer a candidate who already has the NJ lic as they are looking to fill the position by November of 2016.

There is a large hospitalist group of 43+ physicians and they are expanding their hospitalist program this year. The Hospitalists are part of a 600+ multi-specialty provider group employed by this health system. They are considering both Internists and Family Medicine Physicians for this opportunity.
The main Hospital is the site of their hospitalist program, and is the largest acute care hospital in New Mexico with 453 licensed beds. While the Hospitalist team works with high acuity patients, they do not work in the ICU. The first day on rotation is spent with admitting, with the remainder of your week on rounding. The hospitalist providers do not take call after hours. They are expanding their multi-disciplinary unit based rounding. The shift cap is manageable at 18-20. You would work approximately 16 x 10 hour shifts per month, in 5 day blocks. Total annual hours are1856 for the 5 day blocks vs. 2184 hours for 7 on 7 off. They have one night shift per month on average, with substantial night differential for pay (pay increase). They are also looking to add nocturnists.
They offer a full benefits package, including a very competitive guaranteed base salary, paid malpractice, CME, sign on bonus, and relocation allowance.
